This website is a personal portfolio regarding the utilisation of payroll data through Data Engineering and Business Intelligent (BI).

For the last 10 years, I have been working as a finance, accounting, and payroll officer in the labour intensity industry. Most of small to medium size companies that I involved previously cannot afford to have a ERP system and they often faced with the overloaded information and overlapping workflow due to the multi-operational systems which is not integrated efficiently. Most importantly, the payroll information never been utilised after the pay run is processed.

I started with (MS Access and Visual Basic), after that (My SQL and PHP), the more I used data, the more I have to learn bigger database and other languages, and never ended. As I mentioned before I am not a developer and I almost give up for learning a new language and catching up the new updates. Fortunately, I have discovered Data engineering and Science, for me it is a new world and it encourage me to continue in the learning. I have been using Python language and it has replaced the databases and all the languages that I previously used, Excel spreadsheets, and save time on downloading and working in spreadsheet. I have been using Python on improving workflow and automating the payroll procedure by using API request and cloud based database (Airtable and Smartsheet), developing a new data set and a connection to BI system like Tableau to analyse data.

The purpose of this portfolio is to utilise the payroll information through data engineering, cloud based database, and BI. I have been using my data engineering, cloud based database, and BI skills in my previous rolls to automate payroll procedure, to improve workflow, and analyse and monitor the operational activities.

The data frame for this portfolio has been inspired by the small to medium size payroll and timesheet attendance systems in Australia such as Astute, Keypay, Deputy, Tsheet. And the data set has been redesigned through Python language to make a new data set for this portfolio.

For the collection of data, all the data being used in this portfolio are randomly generated by Excel RANDARRAY function, and it does not contain any specific real company's information.

Once the data is collected in the new data set, the BI system connect to the data set and it is ready for the visualised analysis.

For my future portfolio, it will be discussed on the workflow improvement, job and project progression, new project labour cost estimation, budget, forecasting, Artificial Intelligent (AI) .

Especially thanks to Python and Tableau.
